For Sale

In Memory

Welcome to the Oregon Morgans website.
For me, the love of horses began at the tender age of 3, when I crawled on to what at that age I thought was a big horse. My sister’s friend had tied her pony to the railing on our back porch and I crawled onto his broad back and went for my first ride. In March of 1967 I bought my first Morgan, RA’s Lincoln Knox. I had gone to buy an Arabian at the Salem Fair Ground but found it had been sold out from under me. It was the best day of my life as I met Mable Miller, a long time Morgan breeder, and she happened to have a young Morgan for sale. “Charley” was a black son of Linn's Knox, out of Gay Leaf Dan-Leva, by Dancin. Dancin was a Dapper Dan grandson and Gay Leaf Dan-Leva was a double Dapper Dan bred mare. My first mare was an unregistered two year old that I registered with my first unregistered prefix, Cameo, and her name was Cameo’s Delight. I registered many horses using "Cameo" but when I tried to register the prefix, I was told that it had been registered too many times (by me) and that it could not be used. That is how the "Oregon" prefix came to be.

I love the pretty head and the western working blood lines. I have stayed with these blood lines and worked in some of the lines of Chasley Superman, Beamington, Windcrest Music Man and Trophy, as these horses were the athletes in their days as show horses. I also love the Lippitt blood through Ellie Mason’s Marvelous Ideal. I have a strong commitment to the Morgan breed and am a life time member of AMHA, Oregon Horseman’s A
ssociation and the Jackson County Horsemen’s Association.

Since 1969 we've been raising good horses for all disciplines, from beginner to advanced. Oregon Morgans specializes in the versatile Morgan for open competition and as a user friendly family mount. We enjoy our horses. Standing the multi talented stallion PT Cruiser, home bred and raised, combining the western working, government and Lippitt lines.

Nothing could be finer than sitting astride a beautiful Morgan. We hope you enjoy your visit to our website, and if we can answer any questions you might have, we would be happy to talk to you. Anything to help you into the world of Morgans.
